03/22/25 SIN AS AN ACT OF THE WILL

03/22/25 SIN AS AN ACT OF THE WILL
(Whatever else sinning may include, it is at least, "willful disobedience to the known will of God." This is the aspect of sinning I am referring to in this post. "Sinning is the willful disobedience to the known will of God." With this as a starting point, consider the following points.)

If you don't hate sinning enough to want to quit sinning, then you are not saved.

If your savior does not want to save you from sinning in this present evil world, or if your savior does not have the power to save you from sinning in this present evil world, or if your savior refuses to save you from sinning in this present evil world, or if your savior wants you to keep sinning in this present evil world,
THEN your savior is not the God and Savior proclaimed in the Bible.

Salvation from sinning in this present evil world is not to be viewed...
as salvation from the possibility of willful disobedience to God,
or salvation from devilish attacks,
or salvation from being tempted,
or salvation from being weak,
or salvation from being human.

Salvation from sinning in this present evil world...
does not preclude us from accountability for willful sinning,
or from the need to believe on Christ,
or from the need to obey Christ,
or from the need to resist temptation,
or from the need to continue in Christ,
or from the need to endure until the end,
or from need to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ,
or from the need to be conformed to the image of Jesus,
or from the need to die to sin,
or from the need to be cleansed from all sin,
or from the need to walk in the light as He is in the light.

Biblical salvation actually directs us to godly living, calls us to godly living, enables us for godly living, instructs us in godly living, holds us accountable for every thought, word and deed. This is because we either willfully live our lives in loving subjection to the Sovereign Ruler of the universe or we willfully live our lives in opposition to the Sovereign Ruler of the universe.

In fact, salvation is the presently active, ongoing grace of God in our lives which delivers us from sin and keeps us from sinning. As someone has said, "With God's calling, comes God's enabling." Let me also say...
With God's calling comes God's salvation from sinning, to whosoever believes on Christ.
With God's salvation comes God's presence, power and promises.
With God's salvation comes God's grace.
With God's salvation comes God's reconciliation and regeneration.
With God's salvation comes God's leading.

If Christ can save a believer from willfully disobeying any of God's known will, then Christ can save any believer from all willful disobedience to the known will of God.

Consider these passages.
James 4:17

17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
1 John 2:3-6
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
1 John 3:4-10
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
1 John 5:2-5
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
1 John 5:17-18
17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
Psalms 97:10
10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
1 Corinthians 10:13
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Hebrews 10:23-27
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
