Our church started a Christian School in the late 1980s because of the open and heinous attacks, both locally and nationally, against faith and family, against Christians and Christian principles. As parents, Martha and I had dealt with the pointed attacks from elementary school teachers in the Public School system. Some teachers ridiculed our children personally, our child's faith, our moral family values, our parental authority, and openly, unashamedly in front of our children's classrooms. We were becoming more and more drawn into our children's schooling because of the woke mentality (before "WOKE" was even a thing, much less "cool.") By the way, the "woke" mentality has been a thing ever since the Serpent first spoke in the Garden. WOKE in human jargon is, "DEAD" or "ASLEEP" in Biblical nomenclature.
It was obvious that public education (built on Secular Humanism and led by anti-Bible and anti-Christian change agents), was deeply and firmly entrenched in the classroom, the administration, the government support, the legal system. We saw the need for Christian education, but the tuition by the mercenary "Church" schools was prohibitive. It was also not Biblical. It was a money-making operation for churches, from Pre-school to High School levels. God have mercy on the so-called ministries that use the "temple" grounds to fleece the people. Most other churches (locally and nationally) were not speaking out or standing against the stealing of America's children and the subverting of the American values.
We only charged ten dollars a month for students. Actually, we did not want to charge anything, but I acted on the principle that folks appreciate something more when they have an investment. We eventually did away with any charge, since our Christian school was a ministry for any parent who wanted to save their child from the corruption and abuse and inferior academics being shoved off on America's children. That is right, we ran a Christian school from First Grade to Eleventh Grade our very first year in operation. Our academic standards were actually higher than the government schools. In fact, our school was commended in its first year by a State sanctioned education commission. We not only had basic classes (without the perversions promoted by the Socialistic oriented NEA), we also had a battery of computers for all ages and some instruction from a Computer Programmer for NCR. Our teachers had not been brain drained by the Liberal saturated and indoctrinated pedagogical machine (aka Teacher's College). Our teachers were qualified volunteers (by practical standards, not the fake standards of NEA and the recently formed DOE). We had some students come to our Church school who had been labeled as "slow," (challenged, special needs) by the government school. Though those children were abandoned by "teachers" who rejected God's word and family values, and though those "teachers" were being paid by taxpayers, those children were being left behind. But when those abandoned children came to our Church school they learned to read and advance in other areas of social interaction and academic attainment.
But it was not only the academic and social areas of life that improved. Some of those children had been abused in various ways, including sexually, physically, emotionally, relationally, spiritually. A Christian setting was an actual safe place for those who were being victimized by the State endorsed schooling system.
But regardless of the evidence we offered people, they clung to the Secular, Humanistic, Naturalist, Socialist, Scientism, DEI, and the New World Order of undermining family and destroying Biblical standards of truth and life. Though the years I, and others in our ministry, have been thought of as a subculture (at best) and as un-American and anti-Christian. But we were insistent and consistent in following God, His word, and truth.
Over the decades it has been amply demonstrated that we were right, and the nay-sayers were wrong. But it is way too late for some folks. They are brain washed, or they have died without Christ. Still, some folks are beginning to see, and agree, with our early assessment and warnings. But that has not changed folks. They are still trying to sanctify the devil. They are still committed to a system of oppression, vulgarity, perversion, Socialism, infidelity, and now lunacy of the highest order. They cling to their political party; they sacrifice their children on the altar of Humanism. They sell their soul for a bowl of beans.
It has been bad (and it is getting worse) for a long time, but YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET. It is costly to follow Jesus. Pastors need to head up the army of God (not armed with bullets or even ballots, but Biblical beliefs and behavior). It is not about popular "praise and worship" or heady teaching or demonstrative preaching. Each of these have their place and they are important, but it is the DOING OF THE WILL OF GOD THAT PROVES OUR ACTUAL COMMITMENT.
Ignoring the world condition, surrendering to the powers of darkness, giving children to the devil, paying for overt wickedness needs to stop. It won't be easy. It won't be easy to figure out. But we are not called to a life of ease. We are called to fight the good fight of faith. Pastors need to lead the way. Parishioners need to heed the call. Parents need to draw the line and be willing to die for their children.
You know me. You know I could go on and on. But very few will hear and take a stand for Christ, against hell's attack.
