I have known Christians who have been deceived by Satan, and therefore believed lies, which are contrary to vital truths in the word of God. But if the deceived believer walks in Divine light (truth), God will lead that person out of their error.
Do not be married to your beliefs in this life. Just like evil behavior and wicked communications, so too should Christians turn from deception of the mind and beliefs.
When a believer realizes the will of God, which leads away from evil behavior and conversation, but chooses to continue in the aberrant behavior and the unholy conversation, then that believer is no longer a believer. He (or she) has a form of godliness but denies the power of God. God's salvific grace not only makes us aware of sin (thoughts, words and deeds), but it also enables us to follow God's leading, and the end result is that our lives and our character is conformity to the image of Jesus.
We should not hold to anything that is contrary to the nature of God, the revelation of God, the will of God. When we see something in our life in opposition to Biblical truth, Divine nature, Christ likeness, then we are enabled and required to denounce and renounce it, whether we received it from family, community, "church training," culture, racial heritage, religion, society, politics, government, academia.
More especially are Christians responsible to come out from systems and movements and parties and groups, which are opposed to the revealed will and word of God.
The Scriptures tell us that many will be deceived in the last days. A great number of the deceived will hold to the teaching of popular preachers, highly esteemed church leaders and revered family members.
Remember, our light is always growing. We will not be right with God if we do not walk in the light that He leads us into. Likewise, we must not settle for the light that God gave to our forefathers or our spiritual mentors. This does not mean we will turn from Biblical truth, but rather that we will receive more truth from God's word as we grow and move forward with Him.
We are required to walk in the light God gives to us, and that light grows brighter with every dawning day. We must be dedicated to grow in grace and knowledge. Walking in light means leaving darkness behind. He that knows to do good and does not do the good, is sinning. Sinning religion does not worry about obedience to God's light. However, those who intend to make heaven their home must continue in the faith, continue in the grace of God and must continue in the Lord. These are not simply pious platitudes; these are Divine mandates we must follow.
God's light is comforting. God's light is delivering. God's light is enriching. God's light is essential. When we walk in God's light we are given peace, given joy, given hope, given love, given power, given grace, given encouragement, given life.
