10/28/25 KNOW GOD'S UNCHANGING WORD
Paul told the Christians in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2
"1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand."
This letter was written by Paul the Apostle for, and specifically to the Christians at Thessalonica. However, it is part of God's revelation to His people, the Church, throughout the Christian era.
As I read this passage over one half century ago, I understood the principle that it applied to me personally.
I realized that I would not be told that Paul had not contradicted himself (actually, he had not contradicted the Holy Spirit, since the Holy Spirit is the Author of the Bible). I knew that Paul could not write or say anything that would contradict this passage of Scripture. However, I also understood that someone might come on the scene that would misrepresent or mistranslate what Paul wrote. I also knew that an evil spirit might speak to someone with a "new revelation," which would dispute God's word.
But I could not see how a person could actually take the words of Paul and turn them to refute what he so clearly had said.
As I was talking about the rise of AI in its various forms, I realized that an AI version, a deliberate rewriting and publishing of this passage, either in hard print or digitally online could easily convince people that the very opposite of what Paul said could be presented as the actual words of the Bible.
We are seeing new and distorted "translations" of the Bible being passed to the public as the "true" word of God. I thought about how many people get their Bible teaching from the internet, and how many of them rely on AI for accurate information concerning every area of life, including spiritual information.
It will be so very simple for evil people to present a computer-generated counterfeit of the Bible, and people in today's society will accept anything because of ignorance concerning the Bible, Christian theology, Biblical doctrine, Christian history, linguistics. When you combine this with the gullibility of people concerning communications from "spirits," then it is easy to see why people would be easily deceived.
I remember the Irving Wallace novel being written in 1972. It was the fictional story of a man who was faced with publishing a supposedly discovered ancient writing, which would change the whole view of Jesus and Christianity, causing upheaval in the "Christian world." The book was eventually made into a mini-series, with David Jansen.
I mention this because the story line points out the power of a published book, regardless of its accuracy or authenticity.
How much more influential will be an AI generated presentation of an "updated and improved" version of the Bible.
This is not as fantastic as it may seem. Remember, there will be an "image of the beast" (the anti-Christ), which will falsely represent Divine authority and deceive the nations. If a "trustworthy" AI entity makes the claim of Divine authority, claiming that the supposedly "deceived writings of Paul have been "correctly updated," it would not be surprising for society to swallow the lie.
Consider this action of the Chinese government twisting and distorting the image of Jesus by rewriting the story of the woman taken in adultery. Instead of Jesus offering forgiveness and a new life, Jesus is said in the Chinese version to have killed the woman and then announced that He was a sinner. (This is an actual case in point).
If this kind of misrepresentation is published and taught, then people will believe a lie, as 2 Thessalonians 2:8-12 goes on to say.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
It will be as if Paul had said or written something which was totally contrary to what he had written.
