This addresses the presence, power and purity of God in your life.
Thinking about your salvation and saying it out loud (confessing it) to others, helps build a wall of resistance to Satanic attack and evil infiltration; if you don't think it and say it, you are weakening your defenses against the overthrow of your life.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so. (Ps. 107:2)
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. (Ro. 10:9)
Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. (Mt. 10:32)
Whosoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in him and he in God. (1 Jn. 4:15)
You will not have the opportunity to tell everyone your full testimony, but no one who has a basic relationship with you should have a question about whether you have a saving faith in Jesus. It should be evident in your behavior and present in your verbal communication. There is no such thing as an undercover Christian.
Christians in oppressive governments do not wear "sandwich boards" declaring their faith, neither do not hide their faith, even from their persecutors. They may hide from their persecutors, but they do not hide their faith. Even when you are facing execution for being a Christian (which you probably are not), there is no excuse for being a "secret Christian."
If you are not living the life of salvation (deliverance from and victory over sin), you have no testimony. You must turn from your known sins, and you must trust and follow Jesus. If you are faithfully following Him, remember, you are God's messenger, God's ambassador, God's witness to the lost. If we should not let death deter us from giving witness, then we should not allow fear to keep us from telling our neighbors about Jesus, the only way of salvation.
The Bible says that God has given us the message of reconciliation, and we are to share it with others, therefore we are indebted to others because we have what belongs to them. Be sure to offer them Christ. You may be the only one who will share Christ with them.
