10/21/25 SALVATION, IT IS FOR THE WHOLE PERSON
Being Christian, being a Christian, is a whole person reality. We are psycho/physical totalities (body and spirit, inner man and outer man), and the Bible refers to us as being body, soul and spirit, with BODY referring to our "other awareness," SOUL referring to our "self-awareness," and SPIRIT referring to our "God awareness."
We are created to live (exist) in a conscious awareness and union with God for eternity. However, sin has separated us from God and alienated us from the life He wants us to have. The only hope for experiencing and living the life that God wants us to have in this world and eternity is to be reconciled by trusting in the sacrificial death and physical resurrection of Christ.
Salvation is a whole person reality, including body, soul and spirit, reconciling us to a right relationship with God and His family.
This life, this reality, this salvation is not simply philosophical, intellectual, moral, theological, it is relational and it is rich with Divine treasures. God is the Giver of every good and perfect gift, and He gives us everything that pertains to life and godliness. We can have all that God wants us to have, we can be led into all the truth He wants us to know, when Christ is our all in all, when our life is hidden in Christ.
Salvation is not simply living a better life, it is living the miraculous life of Christ in you, the hope of glory: it is being redeemed from all iniquity and purified for Him, so that we are a distinctive people, eagerly doing the will and work of God.
Colossians 3:1-8 KJV
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
