Tell-A-Vision night at church.

(A heads-up for this evening's study and fellowship).
Not television, or tell-an-apparition, or tell-an-aberration, or tell-an-hallucination.
A Divine vision is not to be confused with a Divine revelation. The only Divine revelation we get is God's word. We get Divine enlightenment from God's word, by the work of the Holy Spirit.
If you are getting new revelation, you are listening to an evil spirit and a false prophet. If you are not getting personal enlightenment, you are not hearing from the Holy Spirit .
Enlightenment is the Holy Spirit's teaching and leading through God's word. God's Holy Spirit and His holy word always agree. God leads His children into truth, holiness, obedience, faithfulness, victory, love.
Enlightenment comes directly from the Holy Spirit, through reading Scripture, prayer, meditation, and also through Divinely chosen channels, such as faithful preachers, teachers, counselors, testimonies, songs, writings, all of which must be consistent with the original purpose of God in His written word.
God may open the eyes of a faithful believer to His will (a vision) while he is reading, praying, meditating, listening, serving, praising, suffering. The important thing is to be filled with God's word and His Spirit and seeking the Lord with the whole heart and following God's leading.
Proverbs 29:18
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
xIn a similar way, we need to have knowledge of God and His ways. Because of the lack of this knowledge, people are destroyed, and they lose their relationship with God.
xHaving no vision and lacking Divine knowledge destroys the errant child of God and all the people that are left in darkness because of that failed believer.
