04/30/25 REJECTION ENDS RELATIONSHIPS

04/30/25 REJECTION ENDS RELATIONSHIPS

God has not only loved us when we loved Him, when we trusted Him, when we obeyed Him. He loved us when we hated Him, when we doubted Him, when we resisted Him and rejected Him and rebelled against Him.

He sought us though we had forsaken Him; He called us though we had shut Him out, He reconciled us though we had betrayed Him.

God not only loved us in our sin and backsliding, but He loved us when we thought we could never be loved again.

BECAUSE GOD IS LOVE.

Yes, our sin will separate us from God if we refuse to believe, repent, confess and follow, but He will give us every opportunity to be saved.

No one goes to hell because God wants them to be lost forever; they go to hell because they refuse to surrender to His rightful and loving claim over them.

God gives us the final word concerning our salvation, but He will have the final word concerning our eternal destination.

God inhabits eternity, but He interacts with us in TIME. Jesus died for our redemption, but He cries over our rejection.

God had plans for our deliverance, for our journey, for our victory. But salvation is a two-way relationship. God provides salvation and we choose to accept or refuse His offer. We choose to either love Him or love sin.

Our choice is a moment-by-moment love relationship, which will become eternal, or it is eternal opposition to God, starting now and continuing forever.

This is why God seeks us, and draws us, and sometimes drives us. But if we harden our hearts, He will cut us off.

The darkened and deceived minds will blame God. They will blame His authority, His standards, His discipline, His requirements, His chastening, His threats, His warnings, His justice.

God has given us everything necessary for life and godliness, but the enemies of God will try to shift the blame for their misery onto God.

We see this same scenario played out in families and churches. The messengers of reconciliation weep with broken hearts for the lost, while the self-absorbed scorns them, and breaks all connections with them.

04/30/25 VERSES ON GODLINESS

04/30/25 VERSES ON GODLINESS

INTRODUCTION
Do you remember all of the verses that condemn godly living, or all of the verses that command, commend or condone ungodly living? THERE ARE NONE, because godliness is the will of God and ungodliness is rejection of God and the enemy of God's people.

HOWEVER, there are verses and passages, which command and commend godliness, and other verses and passages, which condemn ungodliness.

I have listed every verse or passage which contains the words, "godly, godliness, ungodly and ungodliness." I have also included a list of references to some of the passages with these key words, which are related to the subject. These lists are taken from the KJV, but I could have done the same with any other legitimate translation.

You will see that all of these passages clearly and consistently indicate God's favor of godliness and His disapproval of ungodliness.

Please take the time to consider these verses. Don't be concerned with supposed hidden meanings or man-made explanations. God's word says what God wants it to say, and reliable translations make it clear and easy to understand. The Bible is consistent and repetitive.

GODLY...
Psalm 4:3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.
Psalm 32:6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.
2 Corinthians 1:12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation (conduct) in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.
2 Corinthians 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

GODLINESS...

2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
1 Timothy 2:8-10
8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
1 Timothy 4:7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
1 Timothy 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
2 Peter 1:6-10
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
2 Peter 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

UNGODLY...
I quote all of Psalm 1 because 4 of the 6 verses actually refer to the "ungodly."

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

04/29/25 I HOPE THIS HELPS

04/29/25 I HOPE THIS HELPS

Doing that which is wrong can stem from...
Misinformation,
Accident,
Willful Decision.

When we get the right information and when we have been made aware of the circumstances and choices, then doing that which is wrong is a willful decision.

The Holy Spirit shows us what is sin.
The Holy Spirit warns us not to sin.
The Holy Spirit convicts us of sins we have committed.

Sin is willful disobedience to the known law of God.
To the one who knows to do good (the morally right thing to do) but does not do that which is good (the morally right thing to do), it is sin.

This relates to the old saying,
"Fool me once, shame on you,
Fool me twice, shame on me."

Making the same "mistake over and over, after learning what we have erred, is likely the choice not to make the right choice."

The God of the Bible loves the sinner, before he is converted.
The God of the Bible loves the believer, even if he sins after conversion.
The God of the Bible is not desiring for the opportunity to hurt or punish the sinful person.
The God of the Bible gave His only begotten Son and sent His Holy Spirit to save the lost; to restore the fallen, to renew the repentant, to reconcile the rebellious.

But there comes a time when God's Spirit will not strive with man. This was true for the entire human race in the days of Noah, and it is true for the individual who hardens his heart against the call of God. The person who hardens his heart (repeatedly chooses to disobey God and refuses to turn from his sins), will be destroyed (cut off from God), and that without remedy.

God is unquestionably loving, merciful, kind, gracious and longsuffering, but He is also true to His word.
The soul that sins shall die (be separated from Him forever and be punished for his sins).
God is jealous (expecting love and submission from His people, His creation).
God says that vengeance belongs to Him.
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

04/29/25 BREAK THE CHAIN

04/29/25 BREAK THE CHAIN

It is bad enough to look back and regret a single decision, which resulted in ongoing tragic consequences, but it is far worse to continue in the same errant and tragic direction, compounding the same destructive consequences. However, it is damning to refuse to accept God's light on that recurring situation. Failure in the past is not an excuse to fail today.

It was bad enough that the Christian community in America (American Christianity, from pulpit to the pew, including parents), sacrificed the children to Scientism, Socialism, Humanism and Statism, by silently letting the destructive wave of darkness engulf our society, government, academics, justice system, politics, but it is much worse that pastors, parishioners, parents allowed sinsanity and idiocracy, and wokism, to stifle the proclamation of truth; to overthrow the authority of the ministry in Christian leadership; to steal the children and youth of America from their faith, their families, their freedoms.

Pastors moved away from pastoral obligations and opportunities to shake the Gates of Hell; they surrendered their authority and Divine assignment to lead, teach, counsel, confront and build up the local body and to equip their churches for battle against false doctrine, damnable heresies. Pastors should have never turned the minds of their people over to Bible hating, so-called "Educators," "Politicians," "Academics," Scientists," "Doctors" and "Counselors" (medical and mental health and family life). Pastors should have led the way in resisting and rejecting Secularist intrusion into their church ministries and families. But they sat back and watched, as Rehoboam watched the enemies of God rob the Temple. Once the treasures are robbed, there is little likelihood that they will ever be recovered. The only right response is to realign with the rule of God. Sadly, most pastors surrendered the treasures of the "temple," but have never taken steps to recover those treasures or protect other treasures of the church. (By the way, the treasures include the lives, the minds, the souls of the children and young people.)

But it was not only the silence and surrender of State fearing pastors that lost the treasures of children, youths, family, morality, authority, it was the complacency of Christians at large (parishioners), and parents in particular, who not only surrendered their responsibilities and rights into the hands of an intrusive political, governmental and social system; those parents readily sacrificed their treasures to those false gods because of fear and for love of worldly advantages.

The betrayal is not over. Even though 60 years of spiritual insurrection has been aggressively destroying individuals, families, churches and our entire country, we are still seeing pastors, parishioners and parents bow before the State and Socialism and Secularism. Apparently the perversions and destruction of children, youths, families, churches and our great country has not moved them to ACTION. There is plenty of "praise," "worship," "teaching," "preaching," "speaking out," but there is no standing up and charging the Gates of Hell.

It has always been costly to follow Jesus, which is why we have seen so little following of Jesus and so little spiritual success in the last sixties years. Pastors and parishioners and parents opened the flood gates of hell and stood by as their families, their faith, their freedoms were carried away. But now, in the face of the evidence, they still meet and greet, but don't move their feet to defend the truth or defeat the enemies of the cross.

It is time for confession, repentance, obedience. We will not save America, but we don't have to lose more Americans to the anti-Christ spirit of the day. It is a national problem, it is a regional problem, it is a local problem, and empty words only empty the hearts and empty the kingdom. Put the walk into your talk. It is costly, but the alternative is much more costly. We are not going to change the tide, but we can save some from being swept away in the raging current. It is not easy now, but it is easier today than it will be tomorrow. In fact, there may not be a tomorrow. Today is the day of salvation.

Don't get mad with me. I am just the messenger. And you know the message is true because the facts are screaming all around us. Sadly, there are few who are calling believers to action. But those who actually hear the warning are called to take action and they are also called to cry the warning aloud to others.

This war will not be won with bullets or ballots, but with Bible believers being obedient to God's call. We must obey God rather than men and we must not allow anyone to limit our submission to God (politician or pastor). Let God be true and every man a liar. We ought to be saying, "Though none go with me, still I will follow."

04/26/25 A WHOLE PERSON EXPERIENCE

04/26/25 A WHOLE PERSON EXPERIENCE

The Christian experience, life, is not just a Divine declaration or formula or pact. The Christian experience, life, is a living and ongoing relationship between God and those who trust Him for their life (eternal and present), their daily bread, their understanding, their strength, their courage, their walk, their very being.

There are Divinely established conditions which must be met for a person to enter into and to continue in this relationship with God (faith, repentance, confession, obedience). But the Christian life is not simply a meeting of conditions. Along with faith, love is a vital factor in our eternal life relationship with God. It is not an act of the human will that determines our relationship with God. It is the yielding of our will to His Lordship, which is an act of faith and love. Without faith it is impossible to please God, and love is the fulfilling of the law. It is because of love that we obey Him and do that which is pleasing in His sight.

Life is a dynamic, a continuing trust and willing surrender and dependence on God. Spiritual life, the Christian experience is an ongoing and growing relationship with God. Eternal life is only found in, and possible through the Eternal God.

God has provided everything necessary for life and godliness. God has provided sustenance through His word, through His death and resurrection, through His Spirit. God is our food, our drink, our breath, our life in every sense.

We have life when we have a right relationship with God. There may be times when you don't "feel" the presence of God. There may be times when you are walking through the valley of the shadow of death. There may be times when you are surrounded by your enemy, when darkness closes in on you like a flood, when your prayers seem to be suppressed by ceiling of brass, when the only voice you hear is the voice of our enemy. BUT GOD, has not forsaken you, He has not forgotten you. He has promised that He will never leave or forsake us.

But what if it is sin in your life, which has separated between you and God? God is still faithful. He calls you back to a right relationship. He calls you back to life.

So, whether it is because of personal failure or spiritual attacks from our enemy, we must never lose hope. If you can conceive it (hope sees the unseeable), then you can believe it (faith is the substance of things hoped for), then you can receive it (forgiveness, restoration, strength, vision, life, victory).

Unless you are willfully rebelling against His will, then your suffering in the Garden is a planned trial, over which you can be an overcomer. Remember that Jesus darkest moments were followed by the Fathers tender restoration. Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes in the morning. Our trials are but for a moment, but His mercy is everlasting. Keep your faith in Him. Jesus never fails.

These are truths we all need to keep in mind.

04/26/25 A HISTORY OF RESPONSE

04/26/25 A HISTORY OF RESPONSE

Our church started a Christian School in the late 1980s because of the open and heinous attacks, both locally and nationally, against faith and family, against Christians and Christian principles. As parents, Martha and I had dealt with the pointed attacks from elementary school teachers in the Public School system. Some teachers ridiculed our children personally, our child's faith, our moral family values, our parental authority, and openly, unashamedly in front of our children's classrooms. We were becoming more and more drawn into our children's schooling because of the woke mentality (before "WOKE" was even a thing, much less "cool.") By the way, the "woke" mentality has been a thing ever since the Serpent first spoke in the Garden. WOKE in human jargon is, "DEAD" or "ASLEEP" in Biblical nomenclature.

It was obvious that public education (built on Secular Humanism and led by anti-Bible and anti-Christian change agents), was deeply and firmly entrenched in the classroom, the administration, the government support, the legal system. We saw the need for Christian education, but the tuition by the mercenary "Church" schools was prohibitive. It was also not Biblical. It was a money-making operation for churches, from Pre-school to High School levels. God have mercy on the so-called ministries that use the "temple" grounds to fleece the people. Most other churches (locally and nationally) were not speaking out or standing against the stealing of America's children and the subverting of the American values.

We only charged ten dollars a month for students. Actually, we did not want to charge anything, but I acted on the principle that folks appreciate something more when they have an investment. We eventually did away with any charge, since our Christian school was a ministry for any parent who wanted to save their child from the corruption and abuse and inferior academics being shoved off on America's children. That is right, we ran a Christian school from First Grade to Eleventh Grade our very first year in operation. Our academic standards were actually higher than the government schools. In fact, our school was commended in its first year by a State sanctioned education commission. We not only had basic classes (without the perversions promoted by the Socialistic oriented NEA), we also had a battery of computers for all ages and some instruction from a Computer Programmer for NCR. Our teachers had not been brain drained by the Liberal saturated and indoctrinated pedagogical machine (aka Teacher's College). Our teachers were qualified volunteers (by practical standards, not the fake standards of NEA and the recently formed DOE). We had some students come to our Church school who had been labeled as "slow," (challenged, special needs) by the government school. Though those children were abandoned by "teachers" who rejected God's word and family values, and though those "teachers" were being paid by taxpayers, those children were being left behind. But when those abandoned children came to our Church school they learned to read and advance in other areas of social interaction and academic attainment.

But it was not only the academic and social areas of life that improved. Some of those children had been abused in various ways, including sexually, physically, emotionally, relationally, spiritually. A Christian setting was an actual safe place for those who were being victimized by the State endorsed schooling system.

But regardless of the evidence we offered people, they clung to the Secular, Humanistic, Naturalist, Socialist, Scientism, DEI, and the New World Order of undermining family and destroying Biblical standards of truth and life. Though the years I, and others in our ministry, have been thought of as a subculture (at best) and as un-American and anti-Christian. But we were insistent and consistent in following God, His word, and truth.

Over the decades it has been amply demonstrated that we were right, and the nay-sayers were wrong. But it is way too late for some folks. They are brain washed, or they have died without Christ. Still, some folks are beginning to see, and agree, with our early assessment and warnings. But that has not changed folks. They are still trying to sanctify the devil. They are still committed to a system of oppression, vulgarity, perversion, Socialism, infidelity, and now lunacy of the highest order. They cling to their political party; they sacrifice their children on the altar of Humanism. They sell their soul for a bowl of beans.

It has been bad (and it is getting worse) for a long time, but YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET. It is costly to follow Jesus. Pastors need to head up the army of God (not armed with bullets or even ballots, but Biblical beliefs and behavior). It is not about popular "praise and worship" or heady teaching or demonstrative preaching. Each of these have their place and they are important, but it is the DOING OF THE WILL OF GOD THAT PROVES OUR ACTUAL COMMITMENT.

Ignoring the world condition, surrendering to the powers of darkness, giving children to the devil, paying for overt wickedness needs to stop. It won't be easy. It won't be easy to figure out. But we are not called to a life of ease. We are called to fight the good fight of faith. Pastors need to lead the way. Parishioners need to heed the call. Parents need to draw the line and be willing to die for their children.

You know me. You know I could go on and on. But very few will hear and take a stand for Christ, against hell's attack.

04/26/25 AND THE BEAT GOES ON

04/26/25 AND THE BEAT GOES ON

Pastors, Parishioners and Parents in particular, have abandoned the Lordship of Christ and their responsibilities to protect their children from the ravages of a devilish State System and Society that has hated and attacked our Faith, Family and Freedom, through "laws," "education," and economics.

The American Church sacrificed it's children for a mess of beans AND CONTINUES TO FAIL THEM TODAY.

The American Church refused and still refuses to resist and reject the planned disintegration of family and faith. It takes more than empty platitudes, it takes, "do or die" action.

Christian faith does more than talk the talk, and sing the songs, and parrot the praise of God. The true Christian raises their children in the nurture and admonition of God (and His word), and protects them from the godless, from perverts and from the sin sick State.

Fifty plus years of Pastor, Parishioner, Parental failure has resulted in the ruin of our country, the perverting of our children and the damning of millions of souls because the churches abandoned and betrayed God and His commands.

Still, with all the evidence clearly present, the sleeping (the dead) "Christians" march lockstep to throw their faith and children into the scorching arms of Molech.

Being Christian means, not being worldly, and it means taking up the full armor of God and dying for our faith and our families.

It is time for folks to confess their failure to stand in the past. Do not continue to fail your children. Fight the tsunami of filth and darkness that is carrying your children to eternal doom.

Put the walk into your talk.

04/25/25 AT LEAST THIS MUCH

04/25/25 AT LEAST THIS MUCH

Okay, if you don't believe that God is either willing or able to save you from "all sin," (although that is exactly what God's word says), then can you at least believe that God will save you from the sin that is plaguing you, whether it is a sin of the flesh or a sin of the spirit? Can you at least believe He can and will save you from any of these sins; killing, stealing, lying, committing adultery, violence, cheating, hatred, anger, lust, greed, coveting, lusting, envy, jealousy, selfishness?

Remember, deliverance from sin in this life is not deliverance from Satanic attacks, from temptation, from being human, from being frail, from the need to be vigilant, from the need to resist temptation and stand strong, from the need to remain faithful, from the need to obey God. Even in these areas, we need God's enabling work, but He only provides deliverance to those who ae hungering and thirsting after righteousness, to those who seek Him with their whole heart, to those who deny themselves, take up their cross and follow Him, to those who walk in the light, confess, believe.

It is time to quit listening to the false prophets and false teachers who preach and teach sinning religion.

God is willing and able to forgive, regenerate, cleanse, purify, lead, enable, empower and keep us from sin, and from sinning.

Sin is not greater than God, or His grace, or His power to deliver us.

We are called and enabled to live in victory. That is why it is called salvation.

04/24/25 TWO FACETS OF FAITH

04/24/25 TWO FACETS OF FAITH

The Christian response to the call of God is faith.

Two facets to obedient faith are...
1 Avail yourself of your opportunities.
2 Commit yourself to your obligations.

04/23/25 STILL THROWING OUT THE LIFELINE

04/23/25 STILL THROWING OUT THE LIFELINE

I have tons to say, but I am just going to mention the bare bones.

American Christians (from the pulpit to the pew) have betrayed, failed, denied, abandoned, surrendered their calling and commission from God, shutting the light of the gospel off from children and young people for decades and opening the door to false doctrines, worldliness, Statism, Secular Humanism, SinSanity, Idiocrasy and the inpouring of devilish religion.

Instead of charging the Gates of Hell, and instead of Holding the Fort, the Laodicean Church has huddled together singing and offering up empty words while lauding and applauding heady teaching and theatrical preaching. Instead of conquering the enemies of truth it has kowtowed to the State, the pagans, the vile religion of Ishmael's sons. It is not the fear and reverence of the true and living God of the Bible that is taking a stand against the political and social attacks of sexual perversion and "freedom of religion," but it is the Christ hating, violent butchers, with their perverted and violent religion.

Churches and Christians should have done more than just talk and write and sing about God's truth. They should have put legs to their prayers. They should have withstood the political attacks against Biblical faith, Christian families, and American freedom. They should have put their lives on the line for their Savior and for their sons and daughters. BUT THEY DID NOT and now we are reaping the whirlwind of perversion, oppression, destruction.

What respite we are seeing today from State oppression of religion is more due to the sons of Ishamel threatening our culture than it is due to the actions of fearful and useless misled "Christians" who have loved the world and the things of the world, rather than loving God with the whole heart; who have feared what man can do to them, rather than what God in His righteous judgment will do to them; who have had a form of godliness, but have denied the power thereof; who have shouted and played church, rather than taking up the cross and the armor of God and deploying against the prince of the power of the air.

God prefers drawing the lost to Himself through Divine blessings, but He resorts to driving the lost to repentance through burdens and cursing, because He loves us. Even then, God allows us to freely choose eternal salvation or everlasting suffering. Sadly, the Americanized Church has cancelled the plan of God to rescue the perishing by refusing to be salt in a world of corruption; by refusing to be light in a world of darkness. TALK IS CHEAP. CHURCHES AND PASTORS HAVE FAILED TO WALK THE TALK.

The Church in America has already sacrificed tens of millions of people on the altar of idolatry and the religion of presumption. But there is still time to serve Him, to seek the lost, to stand firm, to save some before it is everlasting too late.

Do I think Americanized Christianity will turn to God? NO, some folks will turn if we tell them the truth of the Bible, if we live the truth of the Bible, if we deny ourselves and take up His cross and follow Him.

The world has been on borrowed time, and the Church in America has neglected and rejected the will of God to stand against Satan's attacks on the children, on the family, on the churches, on Christian principles, on the Holy Bible. It has failed on the Governmental level, the Academic level, the Moral level, the Financial level, the Family level.

Rise up oh men of God. Rise up, out of your grave. Rise up, out of your sleep. Rise up, out of your lethargy. Rise up, out of your pews. Rise up, out of your comforts. Rise up, out of your delusions. Rise up, out of your neglect. Rise up, out of your disobedience.

Rise up and do something rather than play church. Redeem the time. Stand firm. Take up your cross and take up the whole armor of God. End your long night of failure. It is too late to rescue some, but there are still children who can be saved.

04/22/25 INSANITY OR INSURRECTION

04/22/25 INSANITY OR INSURRECTION

The real surprise is when the NON-SUPERIOR COURT makes a reasonable decision. Remember, one of the IN-Justices was born as a female, married a biological male, gave birth to a baby, BUT DOES NOT KNOW WHAT A WOMAN IS. (SHE is lying, or SHE is insane). Other UN-Just judges are twisting the Constitution to protect our enemies and punish the law abiding.

That crowd ought to be in an institution for the insane, or some other institution for their crimes against Americans.

That is where the real insurrection is.

04/20/25 IT ALL MAKES SENSE

04/20/25 IT ALL MAKES SENSE

Because of God's law, God is justified in judging the sinner.
Because God is love and He loves us while we are yet sinners, God gave His only begotten Son to save us, therefore God is justified in justifying the sinner.

Adam's sin led to all of Adam's children being shut out of God's presence, as exemplified by the curtain of separation in the Temple.

Christ's death and resurrection has opened the way for all the children of Adam to be acceptable as babies, and to be reconciled through faith and repentance, as demonstrated with the tearing of the curtain, from top to bottom, at the time of Christ's sacrifice and resurrection.

1 Timothy 4:8-11
8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.
10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
11 These things command and teach.
The tearing of the curtain took place at the time of Christ's sacrifice. He has removed the barrier between God and man, for all those who come to God through faith in Christ.

However, there is still a barrier that separates men from God.
It is rebellion and disbelief.
This is a barrier that we must be willing to remove through obedient faith, and heart felt repentance.

Disbelief is demonstrated through...
Walking in the counsel of the ungodly.
Standing in the way of sinners.
Sitting in the seat of the scornful.

Continuing in the way of sin leads to hardening of the heart.
Hardening of the heart leads to being cut off from God, and that without remedy.

The death and resurrection of Christ is God's provision for our salvation.

Faith is the passkey to salvation.
Hebrews 11:6
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

We are not saved by the law of works.
We are saved by the law of faith.
Romans 3:24-27
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

04/19/25 IT IS CLEARLY STATED

04/19/25 IT IS CLEARLY STATED

Some folks erroneously think that being human is the same as being sinful.

It is true that all humans (other than Jesus) have been born with a corrupted and sinful nature, and it is also true that everyone who lives to be older than a small child (other than Jesus) has committed sin (willful disobedience to the known law of God).

"BUT GOD" has provided salvation, deliverance, forgiveness, cleansing, from sin (the penalty of sin, the pollution of sin and the power of sin). In fact, God not only forgives the believer for all of his sins when he repents and believes on Christ, but God also purifies the believer from all unrighteousness of the flesh and spirit, making the faithful believer, "pure, even as He is pure."

Believers are new creations in Christ Jesus, born of the Spirit, "created in Christ Jesus unto good works," "created in righteousness and true holiness," "renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him," and "conformed to the image of (God's) Son."

Those who want forgiveness from their sins but do not want deliverance from their rebellious behavior are trying to get to heaven by a different way than the true and only Way. They try to design and create their own salvation. They are clouds without water, they have a form of godliness, but they are denying God's salvation power.

If you don't hate your sin, if you don't turn from your sin, then you are still in your sin.
If you excuse your sin or you blame your sin on being human or you think that God will accept you, while you continue in your sin, then you are deceived, and the truth is not in you.

Great numbers want the religion of Christianity, but they do not want God's salvation from sin.

Some folks sought deliverance from their sin, but then they were deceived to think that...
God will not save us from all sin in this present evil world,
or,
God cannot save us from all sin in this present evil world,
or,
God does not care if are not saved from all sin in this present evil world,
or,
God does not want us to be saved from all sin in this present evil world.

But the fact is that God wants to save us from all sin, can save us from all sin and will save us from all sin.

It is possible for a person to be saved, then choose to distrust and disobey God. While they are in rebellion to God's will, that person is not in a state of grace. That person needs to repent, confess and believe God for His willingness to restore the fallen person. But God tells the backslider,
Isaiah 55:6-7
6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

There comes a time when God no longer strives with the rebellious person. The longer a backslider refuses to humble himself and repent, the stronger will be the grip of Satan and sin. In fact, there may come a time when the backslider gets to the point that he cannot turn to the Lord.

It does not take great intellect, wealth, talent, moral fiber to get saved from sin. It takes faith, trust, confidence in the loving, sacrificial death and resurrection of Christ. Presuming on God's goodness rather than trusting His mercy and grace to save us is a mistake that many people are making today.

Make your calling and election sure.
Do not reject God's offer.
Do not neglect God's call.
Do not presume on God's love.
Do not think that you have earned, or that you deserve God's favor.
God does not make us sin and God does not make us repent. Choose ye this day...

As Jesus told His first disciples,
Matthew 16:24
24 "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."

04/19/25 INFORMED, TRANSORMED, CONFORMED

04/19/25 INFORMED, TRANSORMED, CONFORMED

It is important (essential) to know God's position concerning some subjects, such as...
Obedience to God, Faith, Faithfulness, Repentance, Confession, Dying to Sin, Death to the Old Man (the flesh, the carnal mind), Walking in God's Will (for instance His truth, His light, His grace, His love).

Ask these questions.
Is it commanded?
Is it commended?
Is it condoned?
Is it condemned?

It is also important (essential) to know God's position concerning subjects of another kind, such as...
Violating God's Commands, Disobeying God's Leading, Allowing Rebellion of any kind, (including sins of the flesh and spirit: [insert whatever sin you think of here]).

Ask these questions.
Is it commanded?
Is it commended?
Is it condoned?
Is it condemned?

It does not take a linguist or a theologian to understand the clear and repeated directives God has given.

False prophets and false teachers teach sinning religion, loudly and proudly. Don't be drawn into the errors, which are spawned by Satan.

We are not called to be the best we can be, we are invited to be the children of God, born of the Spirit, cleansed by the blood, being conformed to the image of Jesus and becoming the people He wants us to be. Salvation is the miraculous work and life of God in us, as we trust and follow Jesus.

2 Corinthians 6:14-18
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

2 Corinthians 7:1
1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

1 John 3:4-10
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

04/18/25 ENJOY YOUR WALK

04/18/25 ENJOY YOUR WALK

If you walk in the path of God, you will not walk in disobedience, you will not walk in rebellion, you will not walk in sin, you will not walk in darkness, you will not walk in the flesh. This is the clear and consistent revelation of God.
It is not a secret.
It is not a puzzle.
It is not a misunderstanding.
It is not a mistranslation.
It is not a misrepresentation.
It is not a false doctrine.
It is not a false hope.

God wants us to walk in His way (path).
God provides for us to walk in His truth.
God calls us to walk in His Spirit.
God leads us to walk in victory
God enables us to walk in purity, righteousness and holiness all the days of our lives.
Walking in the path of God is an act of faith, which is spiritual submission.

Everything I have said is available to WHOSOEVER follows Christ by faith.
Enjoy your walk.

04/18/25 CLEAR AND CONSISTENT

04/18/25 CLEAR AND CONSISTENT
THE GOOD NEWS OF THE RESURRECTION IS FOR YOU

Bible doctrine makes sense Biblically.

Figurative language makes sense in Biblical context. Jesus referred to Himself as, "the door" because He is the entry way to salvation, and "as" a "mother hen" because of His desire to protect His people. Literal and figurative language is used, but easily recognizable.

Divine Actions (Behavior) makes sense in the light of the Biblical revelation of God's Nature. God's judgments (blessings and cursings), are consistent with His justice and love, jealousy and compassion, holiness and mercy. God's actions (works) are consistent with His nature. His sovereign rule agrees with His nature, which is holiness, truth and love.

To interpret an overwhelming number of clear passages by erroneous applications of a few passages taken out of context and explained from a man-made theological system, warps and twists the Biblical image of God, His nature, His words and His works.

Hundreds of verses clearly declare God's justice (righteousness), God's equity (fairness), God's jealousy and indignation, as well as His selfless love, compassion, mercy, and grace.

God requires holiness of heart and life.
God provides holiness of heart and life to those who trust in the death and resurrection of Christ.
God enables forgiveness of sins committed.
God cleanses believers from sin nature, which is inherited from Adam.
God empowers believers to live in victory overs sin and temptation, by keeping His commandments and doing that which is pleasing in His sight.

God hates sin, and He will judge those, who choose to live in sin, to eternal separation from God.
God loves sinners and provides salvation for every sinner who chooses to believe, repent, confess and follow Jesus.
God is both just (righteous, equitable [fair]) and merciful) in His dealings with sin and sinners.

The entire Bible indicates man's responsibility to hear and heed the rule of God. God is sovereign.
God does have power and authority over all men.
God does not desire that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Christ did die to provide atonement for our sins, but not for our sins only; He died to make atonement for the sins of the whole world because God so loved the world (all who have sinned), so that they might be saved (redeemed, reconciled and rescued) from their sins.

This is the GOOD NEWS of the RESURRECTION.
God did not unilaterally and unconditionally choose some to be saved and deliberately exclude others from salvation, resulting in predetermined reprobation and damnation.
God does require our faith and submission; God does enable us to freely believe and submit.
God does accept anyone who trusts (as an ongoing reality) in the saving grace of God.

You are included in the, "whosoever will believe."
You are invited.
You are loved.
You can be saved from your sins and your sin.

God's salvation is not only salvation from the punishment of sin; it is salvation (deliverance, rescue) from power and pollution of sin, in this present evil world. This is the message of the whole Bible.

Happy Resurrection.

04/15/25 RIGHT BEFORE OUR VERY EYES

04/15/25 RIGHT BEFORE OUR VERY EYES

Even if only a smidgen of the problems being discovered by the work of Trump, Musk, Bondi and others in this present Administration are accurate, then thousands of elected government officials have been part of the greatest political corruption in history, either by their own thievery or their silent approval for decades. Even the "best" of the bunch are guilty.

And many of us knew something was wrong but our trusted leaders covered for the crooks and sold us out to our enemies.

Now, there are people lying and denying the facts, and attacking the victimized citizenry rather than the organized criminals who are undermining our country.

And to top it off, people are supporting a perverted political party that has cannibalized the citizens, persecuted the conservatives, criminalized Bible believers, destroyed family structure, perverted the moral fiber of America.

This happened as "Christians" gave passive approval and danced on the aisles
.
And it AIN'T gonna get any better. Just watch.

04/15/25 SERIOUS STUDY OF SCRIPTURE

04/15/25 SERIOUS STUDY OF SCRIPTURE

There are so many things that are being taught as if they are Christian truths.

I believe the entire Bible, Old and New Testaments, but I realize that some parts of the Bible are not intended for the Christian life, such as sacrificial laws and dietary laws. Those kinds of Old Testament truths are related to Christian understanding, but the New Testament family of God (Christians, The Church) lives under a different set of house rules than the Old Testament family of God (Israel).

The Old is the shadow, and the New is the Substance.
The New is in the Old concealed, and the Old is in the New revealed.
The Old is the Prophetic, the New is the Fulfillment.

The nations of Israel and Judah are not to be confused with The Church. As God said in John,
John 1:17
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

And as God said in Hebrews,
Hebrews 1:1-2
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Hebrews 10:4-10
4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

God instituted Human Government after the flood, as a step toward controlling civil conduct. During the Old Testament God gave laws concerning His earthly Kingdom (Israel, Judah). In the New Testament God does not have an earthly Kingdom, though He does have a spiritual Kingdom on earth (The Church, Christians). Both of these Kingdoms were intended to be subject to the rule of God.

God has given various kinds of laws, such as Sacrificial Laws, Dietary Laws, Ritual Laws, Civil Laws and Moral Laws. Old Testament believers (Israel and Judah) followed different Civil Laws than New Testament believers (Christians, The Church). The New Testament believers are not obligated to follow Sacrificial or Dietary or Ritualistic Laws. All believers are expected and enabled to follow God's Moral Laws, outwardly and inwardly (in the flesh and in the spirit).

God's directives in the Old Testament for Civil and Governmental order are not the same as His directives in the New Testament, because His Old Testament Kingdom was political, geographical, temporal and physical as well as spiritual, but His New Testament Kingdom is not temporal, material or localized, though it is spiritual.

God's rule is not suspended in the New Testament, though it does address issues differently.

Submission to God's rule was and is expected in the Old and New Testament. In the New Testament we are told that the people who love God will keep His commandments. We are not saved because we keep His commandments, we keep His commandments because we are saved. Obedience to God's will is not the way to salvation, but it is the way of salvation. Obedience for the believer is not simply an "ought to," it is a "want to" response to God's rule, because we love Him.

The Scripture is filled with God's directives, some of which are unchanging. When God gives a command, He expects faithful obedience.

God calls us to live righteously, and He enables us to live righteously. Do not be deceived by those who say that Christians are not obligated to obey, or that Christians are not held accountable for their deeds done in the flesh (this earthly life).

God does not command sin. God does not commend sin. God does not condone sin. God always condemns sin.

In the New Testament, God gives Civil Government to the State, not to The Church. Human Government (Civil Government) is for the purpose of protecting the righteous (the law abiding) and punishing the wicked (the criminal). The State wields the sword of steel, protecting its citizens from evil people (domestic and foreign). God has not given The Church the sword of steel. We are not allowed to enforce Civil Order by personally or violently forcing people into submission.

God does not command Christian violence. God does not commend Christian violence. God does not condone Christian violence. God condemns Christian violence.

Refusing to act violently does not mean that Christians are sympathetic to evil or soft on crime or cowardly or enemies of the State or society. Refusing to act violently is simply submitting to God's rule and order, and we do it by love and faith.

Everyone is subject to the rule of God (the commands of God), including the State.

Christians wield the sword of the Spirit, fighting not against flesh and blood (physical enemies), but against spiritual entities. The weapons of our warfare are not physical, but spiritual.

Christians support Government when it does its God ordained job of protecting and punishing. We do not support lawlessness in the Government. "Government," that resists the rule (the power) of God is not legitimate. All people (including Governments and Government leaders) are subject (answerable) to the power (the rule) of God.
Romans 13:1-5
1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
Part of the Christian message is instructing believers in their relationship with society and Government. We wield great power in the world, but it is not the arm of flesh or horses and chariots.

04/14/25 DON'T BE DRAWN BY "CLEVERNESS"

04/14/25 DON'T BE DRAWN BY "CLEVERNESS"

Don't let anyone turn your attention away from the Divine, miraculous, purifying work of God delivering believers from sin (alluded to in the phrase, "SUNDAY IS COMING"), to the popular, new age, fake, human centered "Christianity" of sinning religion, which is seen in the man centered, devil glorifying life of spiritual defeat and surrender to darkness (alluded to in the phrase, "MONDAY IS COMING").

If your "Monday" is not deliverance from sin and sinning, if, on Monday, you are not transformed from sin to righteousness and conformed to the image of Jesus, then you skipped the resurrection event on "Sunday;" you skipped newness of life, the salvation, the victory, the deliverance that was Blood bought, Spirit imparted, Biblically declared.

Sinning religion wants to turn our expectation from the POWER of the RESURRECTION, and the CLEANSING of the BLOOD of CHRIST, and the DELIVERANCE of the HOLY SPIRIT, and the VICTORY of SALVATION, and the WALK of FAITH, to the death embracing acceptance of sin, failure, worldliness, carnality.

If your preacher is preaching the acceptance and expectation of a sinning Monday, you need to find a preacher who tells you about the new beginning of Resurrection Sunday.

04/14/25 GOD IS TRUE; HIS WORD IS TRUTH

04/14/25 GOD IS TRUE; HIS WORD IS TRUTH

Some folks trust their eternal destiny to a supposed Divine fiat, springing from an errant definition of "sovereignty."

I trust my eternal destiny to God (His unchanging nature, honesty, word, justice, mercy). He has promised that whosoever believes, repents, confesses and follows will be saved. God is no respecter of persons. He does not unilaterally, capriciously or arbitrarily choose one person to be saved and another to be condemned. God does not condemn one man for another man's sin. God does not condemn a person for doing something that the man has no power to resist. God is just, righteous, true (honest), equitable (fair). The qualities of being just, righteous, honest and fair are not original with humans. These are Divine qualities, revealed by God in His word, which are consistent with His love, mercy, truth, justice. God is not the "man behind the curtain." God is the same Person, which He reveals Himself to be in Scripture. He is the same and He changes not. He does not have a hidden agenda, against which He will judge us. He does not have a standard, which He deliberately keeps us from knowing. He has given us everything we need for life and godliness. He gives us the choice, and He calls us to faith, repentance and life.

God's love is a true love; God's call is a true call; God's witness is a true witness; God's assurance is a true assurance; God's will is consistent with His nature. God's nature, will, work, call, are all openly, clearly, and repeatedly revealed in the Bible.

The devilish "wisdom," which denies God's word, leads people away from faith and into presumption. By God's saving grace, we can know Him and the power of His resurrection: we can love Him with our whole heart, mind soul and strength: we can obey Him and do that which is pleasing in His sight.

When someone invites you to believe in a religion that appeases the head, but does not transform the heart, come out from them.

04/14/25 OPPORTUNITIES AND OBLIGATIONS

04/14/25 OPPORTUNITIES AND OBLIGATIONS

When the ship leaves the pier, it is too late to get onboard, whether it is the rapture or death. It also includes many opportunities that God gives us in our personal journey. The words of Whittier can be quoted here:
"For of all sad words of tongue or pen,
The saddest of these:
'It might have been.'"

This can include opportunities concerning relationships, vocation, health, education, economics. Even some of the seemingly unimportant choices of life can have life changing ramifications.

Some wrong decisions can be corrected immediately, others can be corrected soon afterwards, others can be corrected much later in life, and some cannot be corrected at all.

Decisions have consequences, some of which are graver.

Don't allow your, "right," to choose, keep you from accepting your responsibility. A "non-choice" is a choice. Responsibilities lead to both obligations and opportunities. It is better for Christians to focus on them as opportunities. Remember, God says that Christians should count it all joy, even, when we encounter various kinds of trials. Our difficulties result in victory when we deal with them with Divine power, wisdom and enablement. Minor choices often impact major issues later in life. Finding and following God's will is essential to a life of purpose, productivity, power and purity. And the sooner we walk in the light and in the Spirit, the better it will be for us.

More somber and sobering still are the words of Jesus when referring to those who reject His salvation and Lordship over their lives,

Matthew 7:23
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The sooner and the more consistently you choose obedience, the more likely you are to finish the course which God has assigned to you. Success is a lifetime accomplishment. We are more likely to finish our course if we are faithful in trusting and obeying as a daily reality in our lives.

04/11/25 MINISTRY BY HI-TECH

04/11/25 MINISTRY BY HI-TECH

Recently I had my laptop, and my desktop give me major problems. A very kind Christian brother got my desktop back in service, then my laptop went on strike. The restored desktop kept our online ministry going, Praise the Lord, and it gives us a much better and more conducive ministry setting than before.

I had been realizing for some time that I needed to upgrade my computer system. Though my old laptop might do fine with some technical expertise, I have now purchased a new, 2 in 1, 13.3-inch, 16 GB, 1 Terabyte, for working at home or out in the field.

Praise the Lord. Special thanks to Martha for urging me to have the tools I need, and thanks to those who helped me decide and to find what I need, also thanks to those who generously support this ministry financially, even from their limited income.

My computer is a major tool in my studying and proclamation work, locally and afar.

04/11/25 IT IS NOT SCIENTISM

04/11/25 IT IS NOT SCIENTISM

No matter the fancy excuses, people who support men being in women's bathrooms and locker rooms are perverts and dangerous.

04/09/25 SELECTIVE BIGOTRY

04/09/25 SELECTIVE BIGOTRY

Where was all of the outcry for decades when untold numbers of previous elected officials were robbing Americans and selling us out to be financially enslaved to the rest of the world (friends and foes).

One Congressional member boasts (Ebonically), "we done picking cotton," which I guess is how she worked her way through two college degrees to become a lawyer. (She must have missed English classes). I don't know how much cotton she picked, but it was more honorable than PICKING POCKETS of American taxpayers.

04/06/25 MONEY GRABBING

04/06/25 MONEY GRABBING

Even if President Trump uses his office (as previous Administrations did), to grab money, the difference is that other Administrations get money from Americans, but Trump gets money for Americans.

Up to this point, he is trying to restore American wealth rather than steal American wealth.
The upheaval should be about the robbers who got wealthy on the backs of law-abiding citizens.

04/05/25 CIVILLY, CORDIALLY AND COMPASSIONATELY

04/05/25 CIVILLY, CORDIALLY AND COMPASSIONATELY

To love people means treating them civilly, cordially and compassionately, even when you disagree with them, and disapprove of their beliefs and behavior. It does not mean allowing them to abuse you or your family or your church. God gives us ways to deal with destructive people.

I have friends and family who have chosen a different spiritual path, but I still value and enjoy a pleasant relationship with them. However, I refuse to let anyone use our relationship to feed their warped ego. I still love them, but I won't sacrifice myself or other people to placate the selfish actions of hateful and hurtful people.

Love sometimes means exercising legitimate discipline, such as force, restraint, punishment, denial.

When it is not legitimate to impose discipline, and the abuser continues to injure, endanger, oppress, offend or violate you or other people, then it is legitimate to disassociate and distance yourself from them.

Love does expose us to injury, but it does not make us the willing victims of evil, abusive and destructive relationships. Even when we cannot end or escape another person's abuse, we are not required to accept or pretend that we have a good relationship, or that the victimizing is acceptable.

A good and a healthy relationship is a two-way street. Controlling, self-centered and abusive people impose their views and hatred and their will on other people. They won't allow anyone to disagree with them.

Separation is up to them.

04/02/25 SOME OF MY EARLY YEARS

04/0/25 SOME OF MY EARLY YEARS

This is a photo of a post card, which shows the Orton Court and Restaurant in Leland, North Carolina. My dad managed this business in the early 1950s; therefore, this was one of my many childhood homes. I had already lived in at least three houses in Morehead City, North Carolina, parts of Los Angeles, California (Hollywood Hills, Glendale, and Chevy Chase communities) and Rutherglen, Scotland, and we would soon move to Miami, Florida, where daddy would manage a different motel, and then back to California again.

I was in the first grade, and I lived like a little king. When I would get home from school I would walk into the restaurant and order whatever I wanted and the waitresses, often high school girls, would bring it to my table. I also had my first job, delivering ice water and newspapers to the motel guests. (They would tip me.) I was one of those working kings.

There was a Lawn Jockey statue in the middle of the complex. I would go out there, put an arm around his shoulder and talk to him, as if he was a real person. I would tell folks he was my brother. Okay, so I don't seem to have been very bright, but neither had I been taught to be a racist. I know the thought of this statue will trigger the Liberal Social Justice Warriors, but y'all need to chill out. Not everyone in the South was brought up with bigotry, and there was racial bigotry everywhere, contrary to Yankee ignorance and propaganda.
We lived in a house on a hill behind the motel. It was there that I imagined a make-believe friend, who was as small as my thumb and rode a make-believe horse. When our family moved back to California he went with us, riding his tiny horse outside the car, through the Texas plains and Mojave Desert.

I understood that the statue was not my actual brother, and I knew there was no pocket-sized cowboy riding a horse, and I knew that Santa was only real in the realm of make believe, but I did know Jesus personally, from the time I was three years old and asked Him into my heart. In fact, it was at the age of three that God called me to be a preacher. Jesus and my call were never imaginary. And remember, my childhood did not include an evangelical Biblical Christian influence.

Oh, by the way, the powder blue Plymouth in the photo belonged to my uncle. He probably stopped by while stationed at Fort Benning, in Georgia. He was in the U.S. Army Tank Corp during the Korean War. I mention the car because many years later, after I turned sixteen, he traded me that car for my bicycle. He was married at the time and had a couple of little children. I drove that car to and from WCHS, sometimes carrying others with me (including Little Raymond, Cornwallis, Ida Francis and maybe my cousin Tana) in 1965.

Well, enough of memory lane for awhile.
